Brazil grows its own coconuts, so Brazilian buyers come to us for what local supply does not always cover: steady volumes, certified organic and Fairtrade grades, and private label cartons in sizes from 65 ml to 1 L. Our aseptic coconut milk comes in four fat bands, from 5% to 30% coconut cream, and keeps for up to 18 months without preservatives, which helps on long routes and in hot warehouses. Choose conventional, organic, Fairtrade, Naturland or Demeter, from Sri Lanka or Indonesia. We supply the composition data and lab reports your importer needs for ANVISA and organic conformity.
Key takeaways
- A second source keeps volumes steady when local coconut harvests or prices swing.
- Aseptic Tetra Pak gives up to 18 months of shelf-stable life with no preservatives, suited to long routes and ambient storage.
- Organic lines need SisOrg conformity in Brazil; we work with your importer on the certification route.
- Talk to our export team early to plan ANVISA regularization, Portuguese labels and lead time.
Coconut milk fat bands: choosing the right one
Fat band | Fat content | Best for |
Light coconut milk | 5–10% | Coconut beverages, smoothies, oat and nut blends |
Standard coconut milk | 14–17% | Curries, soups, meal kits |
Rich coconut milk | 20–22% | Sauces, desserts, premium retail |
Coconut cream | 25–30% | Frozen desserts, confectionery, bakery |
- Light (5–10%): pourable with a mild coconut note; the most cost-efficient band for drinks, soups and blends.
- Standard (14–17%): the everyday band for curries, sauces and cooking SKUs.
- Rich (20–22%): a silkier texture and stronger coconut flavor for premium retail ranges.
- Coconut cream (25–30%): whips, sets and survives baking, for confectionery and manufacturing.
Every batch ships with a COA confirming its fat content.
Certifications: Demeter, Naturland, Fairtrade, organic and conventional
- Demeter: the strictest organic standard, requiring biodynamic farming; suits premium natural retail.
- Naturland: organic with added social standards, widely recognized in German, Swiss and EU retail.
- Fairtrade: fair prices for farmers plus a Fairtrade Premium for their communities; an auditable ethical claim.
- Organic: EU Organic, USDA Organic and JAS, the baseline for natural food retail.
- Conventional: for buyers who don't need a certified claim and want the best cost per liter.
Our facilities also hold BRCGS AA+, IFS, ISO 22000, ISO 14001, Halal and Kosher. See every document on our Certificates page.
Origins: Sri Lanka and Indonesia
Sri Lanka is a long-established coconut exporter with strong certified organic production and a clean, rounded flavor. Indonesia, the world's largest coconut producer, adds scale and cost efficiency for high-volume orders. Having both origins or having production facilities in both countries mean we can keep your supply running if one faces a poor harvest or shipping disruption (how we source).
How the Tetra Pak carton works
The coconut milk is heated above 135°C for two to four seconds (UHT), cooled and filled into a sterile carton in a sterile environment. This brief, high heat removes microbial risk while protecting the flavor of fresh coconut.
The six-layer carton combines paperboard for strength, polyethylene to seal out moisture and aluminum foil to block light and oxygen. The result keeps for up to 18 months at room temperature, with no preservatives and no refrigeration.

Choosing the right carton size

Pack size affects your margin as much as price per liter. Small cartons (65–250 ml) carry a higher packaging cost per liter but suit single-recipe portions, impulse shelves and premium pricing. Mid sizes (330–500 ml) are the main retail sizes for household cooking. The 1 L carton gives the lowest cost per liter and suits foodservice kitchens, family packs and cash-and-carry.
Freight matters too: cartons are rectangular, so they fill pallets and containers with less wasted space than cans or bottles. Ask us for pallet and container loading figures for each size before you set your landed cost.
Four ways we supply
- CecilBio, our own CBL retail brand: organic coconut milk and coconut water under the CBL Global Foods brand, ready for retailers and distributors to list. CecilBio
- Private label: your brand, fat band, carton size, certification and origin, from first brief to shelf-ready carton. Start a brief
- Foodservice and HORECA: 1 L cartons for restaurant chains, cafes, caterers and foodservice distributors. Food service supply
- Food ingredients: unbranded aseptic coconut milk for food and beverage manufacturers, available in larger formats. Industrial supply
Importing coconut milk into Brazil: documents we provide
Imported foods follow ANVISA rules, and the Brazilian importer handles product regularization where the category requires it. We supply composition data, process descriptions, lab reports, batch certificates of analysis and a certificate of origin for that file and for customs clearance. Shipments take about 40–55 days to Santos or Paranaguá, usually with transshipment.
Organic lines sold as organic in Brazil need conformity under the Brazilian organic system (SisOrg), and we work with your importer on the certification route. For private label, we supply the nutrient data for ANVISA front-of-pack nutrition labeling and check your Portuguese-language artwork against the carton template before printing.

Frequently asked questions
Aseptic coconut milk is UHT-treated above 135°C for two to four seconds, then filled into a sterile Tetra Pak carton in a sterile environment.
Canned coconut milk is sealed first and then heat-sterilized in the can for much longer. The short heat step helps keep a fresher coconut flavor and a whiter color, and cartons weigh less and stack more efficiently than cans, which lowers freight cost per liter.
Light (5–10%) suits beverages, smoothies and oat or nut blends. Standard (14–17%) is the usual choice for curries, soups and meal kits, rich (20–22%) for premium retail SKUs, and coconut cream (25–30%) for frozen desserts, whipped toppings and bakery. If you're between two bands, we can send samples of both so your R&D team can test them in your formula.
We act as a second source: steady volumes, certified organic and Fairtrade lines, and private label cartons when local harvests or prices swing. Many Brazilian buyers keep a local supplier and add our range for organic lines, export programs or peak seasons.
We provide composition data, process descriptions, lab reports, batch certificates of analysis, allergen statements and a certificate of origin. Your Brazilian importer uses them for product regularization where the category requires it and for customs clearance.
